I haven't had time to sit down and upload to youtube yet. By the time I get that done this will be all over. Lol.
Part II of the Lana saga. She was doing so well I would take her outside during the day for fresh air. Then she was able to climb up the ramp to the roost area so I let her have some fun and comfort. I would let her sit out there for a few hours and bring her in when the real heat of the day set in. No sense in battling heat stress too, right?
Just now I went out to get her and a freakin' squirrel ran out the the coop! I have to leave the door open so the other girls can come and go. They spend the hot part of the day under the shrubs and then go in to lay then leave again.
Well a couple days ago I caught a squirrel trying to steal an egg and chased it away. Now the little ****** knows where to go! He/she got in there again and attacked my Lana! She's got a superficial bite mark on her head but she's just tired. An egg was broken and out of the nest box. Ugh! I feel like such a bad mom.
We have a new building ordered. One of those Weather King things. I already have fencing to fence it off with. Just texted husband and he's fit to be tied. He hates these squirrels anyway, but now they've disturbed his girls and there's gonna be [email protected]
!! to pay.
I called about the new building. It's almost complete but needs to schedule delivery. I told them it's already a week overdue and they could get it done or come over here and start chasing squirrels themselves. They weren't amused. Well neither am I.
So, now poor Lana is sleeping comfortably in her cage in the front room. I have to go to work tomorrow so she's just going to have to stay in until this is over and I know she can defend herself. Gonna try that upload to youtube again
