A Cold Snowy Friday Night Conversation

The other one is fine for weather related stuff. Just thought I would open up one for general conversation on any subject for folks stuck inside tonight. Add anything you want.

What's for supper was always popular- what do you like on these type nights? I had chili but it was already made in freezer.

One odd thing I have noticed. A lot of sales calls. Sneaky companies must be following the weather.

How prepared do you normally stay for things like this. I can rustle up some flashlights, some candles if need be. Have a fireplace so won't freeze and can cook anything I want outside so I tend not to get all rushing to grocery store. But I don't have kids, that's a whole other ballgame.

Do you stayed glued to tv coverage? Right now I am flipping between that and Dinners Drive in and Dives. Not playing tournaments tonight figure lots of cancellations.

Anything else you want to throw in certainly doesn't have to be weather related, like how I love watching Gunsmoke reruns.

Here we have cold but not snow, we had snow for Christmas but warmed up and rain the next day and the snow disappeared. We have had a couple of days of really strong winds and cold temps so it was nice to stay inside.
Hubby plugged in the Ford 3000 so if the hydro went off we could get the tractor started and run the generator, the hydro did flick off a few times but only for a few seconds so we managed ok.

I love Chili and on a cold night like tonight it would be perfect, real comfort food.
We had sausage that we get at the local Butcher's and it is a good satisfying meal with potatoes and veg.

Tomorrow is going to be cold but not so windy which will be nice.

I love going to butcher shops. One of the the things I sometimes think I would have liked to study/do.

Along with equine management studies at University of Kentucky.

Typically on nights like this there's a fire in the fireplace and we stay in.

Dinner tonight was corndogs and tater-tots.

Homemade potatoe soup and cornbread warms after night feeding and is filling.

I need to do some shopping online for horse medical supplies, and I am looking for new boots for me.

Right now binge watching Criminal Minds as I shop online. Might binge watch Vickings after I bring the horses in for the night.

I get hung up on both Weather Channels whenever there is some sort of weather event affecting my area, so that's what I watched.

We had pizza for supper.

Chili also sounds great. So does potato soup.

DH left work early because there is no winter maintenance on our road and the infamous camel hump preceding the hairpin curve always ices over. If one slides off the wrong side of the road, there is nowhere to go but down and down some more, lollol

He also brought home another 16 gallon heated bucket for in Joker's stall. Rusty already has one in his stall and it has made a huge difference in how much water his big head Walking Horse self drinks. I'm hoping Joker will drink more in his stall.

I have my non heated buckets wrapped in bubble wrap and stuck inside another bigger bucket. Works pretty well!

Right now I am binging on M&Ms. gonna bring the boys in for the night in about 30 minutes.
