So I have been sick for about 2-3 weeks now (I've lost track). Longest cold I have ever had. On the advice of a colleague, I am currently drinking concentrated orange juice, a freshly minced clove of garlic, and hot water. It smells horrible, but actually doesn't taste as bad as I thought. Pretty sure vampires will be staying away from me tonight though (possibly hubby too).

If that doesn't cut it go with bourbon with a touch of honey stirred with a peppermint stick.

Already tried the gin with honey and lemon juice stirred with cinnamon. A few times. Still no go. I have to say, my lungs feel a tad better from the raw garlic. But oh, my breath... at this point, I don't care. This cold is SO done.

Haven't been to a movie for a long time, usually wait for them to come out on PPV. Not a fan of movies based off of comic book characters. I say that but I don't really know because I've never had the desire to watch one.

I missed the country music documentary. I was hoping to catch it on a rerun.

Our great entertainment for today was driving our 4-wheelers to the cemetery 1/2 mile down the road and checking out what kind of tombstone we want. As usual we don't agree. He wants the cheapest and I want the black granite which isn't cheap. I don't know why it matters since I'll be dead and not able to see it anyway. LOL I think it's morbid that he likes to shop for stuff like this.

Supper was chicken tenders, fried potatoes and roasted veggies. Made sloppy joes earlier in the week which is another thing you can do with hamburger although I'm sure you've already figured it out and eaten by now. Also earlier in the week I made the first batch of veggie soup of the season. It's always the best because we haven't had it all summer. I'm a soup is not for hot weather kinda person. I always use some type of a beef roast in mine but mom sometimes made it with hamburger.

R.I.P. JC 5/19/85 - 12/9/14. You made my life better.

I don't usually go to the movies but Malificient is looking good. So ready for the cold. Just wish the damp didn't come with. Well pump went out Thursday. Just getting water back. I hate hauling water. My brother wanted a gumbo with everything but the kitchen sink so crab, claws, shrimp, sausage, chicken and okra. Have enough to feed a small army if any one wants to come over. Potatoe salad to top dress.

I'd do Shepherd's Pie with the hamburger.

We are in the middle of a rainy stretch here in OR but looks better next week. I hate being out in the rain even though I am a native Oregon duck!

I don't get fancy for dinners so no ideas there. Lately I like those premade sides of veggies with rice and quinoa you find in the freezer section.

I did actually get to see some of that PBS Country Music special! They were talking to Kris Kristofferson and his producer I think. Anyway I had no idea Kris wrote and sang "Me and Bobby McGee"--lol. Or that Kris went out with Janis Joplin for awhile. His producer said when he heard Janis sing Bobby McGee he felt like it was an "experience" because she sang with such raw emotion and it made him cry. Now I've been looking up Janis on youtube and appreciate her music more than I did before. She had real talent and was a true artist.

I don't care for all the super hero movies either and don't bother watching them.
