Luckily my boss helped. Waiting at the airport now to head home, I'm really worried as it's really starting to snow, I see the plows going so hopefully the plane will still take off, though it hasn't made it here yet. I hate to say it because I love my job but the stress had my nose bleeding... it takes a lot to do that.

Tonight I'm not doing anything except hug on my animals till they get irritated with me, for dinner not sure what the house sitter left in the fridge but will have whatever is there.

Then tomorrow head across the pond to Ireland, I hope I don't get the weather @Caledonian is talking about. If so Belfast is out.... but I'm going to chow on some Irish stew! I will be done with traveling for a while! I need to ride!
Safe travels, let us know when you land safe.

@lb27312 - Unfortunately, you might get the bad weather. We're not that far apart as the crow flies and the west coast is to be hit quite hard. Having said that, i hope you have a good time.

@egrogan - that's shocking. I'm so glad that the young man was okay but it must have been difficult to watch. Some people can be so selfish nowadays, they don't seem to realise how their actions can change lives forever.

Dinner plans. Hubs and I have been trying to get back to having date nights. TRUE date nights, not just go on a grocery haul after work on a Thursday night and eat half price appetizers and 1.00 drinks at Applebees, go home and go to bed.

There's a cantina about a MILE from our house. Huge pool room and bar area. They make a Sloppy Coors (I don't even LIKE Coors) that is better than most margaritas. Shrimp street tacos that are to die for.

We're gonna actually go on a date night. Big hair, make up, boots, belts, pearl snaps, black hat, the whole enchilada... to go a mile from the house and have street tacos and beersk, maybe shoot some pool, maybe (gasp) socialize with other grown ups NOT our kids or my parents. They have a pretty fun crowd there, all locals we know and enjoy the company of, on a Friday night.

Which reminds me - I gotta try to find the leather tapaderos I have... our neighbor is wanting to buy them and for the life of me I can't find them. He asked me about them two weeks ago - when we were there at Cactus Jack's for our last date night.

I'm sick! BAD cold hit me like a ton of bricks last night. But it didn't stop me from riding Pi in the almost full moonlight. Went to bed early and at work now; although will leave early. Vet is coming to do Pi's Coggins & Health Cert and I'll try to make it up to Matt's later in the afternoon to ride. Oy ... not a convenient time to get sick.

Have no clues on dinner. Maybe soup. It's the only thing that sounds good.

Tomorrow, more riding at Matt's and getting things together to pack in the truck/trailer. Pi and I take off Friday 2/14 for Texas.

Sunday, MORE riding and I have to go to Porterville to pick up my camera that I left in my hotel room. That's 4 hours I could have used for something else. Supposed to get rain/snow Sunday night. Not a whole lot but enough to make it inconvenient.

Keep warm everyone!

Yes, my husband was very shaken but was glad the drivers both seemed to be ok. Fortunately because of the type of road, the speeds were pretty low. Being in the large Suburban certainly helped the person who was hit.

We had a light dusting of snow yesterday morning. You notherners will laugh, but my daughter was up in arms that they didn't cancel, or at least delay, school. There was ice on the overpasses! Ice!

@Caledonian as a Texan, I would like to sincerely apologize for sending that storm your way. You can send it back if you want...

As for me, I have a cold and I'm hoping to spend a lot of this weekend sleeping. Or maybe the cold will magically disappear and I'll get to ride. One of my instructors offered to sell me her trailer, and I was going to go look at it. She then offered to let me ride one of her horses while I was there. I love getting to ride new horses, but people don't usually offer me free rides. So I hope I feel better!

Happy Friday all! SUCH a long week, & a rainy one at that. Work has been nuts this week, so many hearings. We actually had a TORNADO warning today. We're on the top floor of the office building at work, so it was scary, but it was suuuuuuuuuuper windy, it was insane to see! The sky looked crazy. But all is OK, it passed & now the sun is out. Weird!

@egrogan that is just horrible. People can just be so selfish & it only takes one time for something like that to happen.

Hoping to ride this weekend, since it'll be sunny (can you believe that?!), hopefully the mushy, swampy ground hardens a bit. I may just hit the trails nearby. Then of course, cleaning, laundry, Sunday going to my parents for dinner & seeing a movie. I'm gonna try to really take it easy this weekend. If I can!

Ride more, worry less.

We've had two days of rain and last night the temps dropped and the wind is up. It's just above freezing, but with the wind it feels colder. We've even had a few short lived flurries.

I don't have any plans, although I will have to lot in to work for a few hours today (this is supposed to be a day off!) since others didn't get stuff to me yesterday. Oh well.

It's too early to think about dinner, but maybe homemade burritos?

Courage is taking just one more step...

!

Okay. I was going to ask if I could have some of your heat instead but if you're getting snow....

I fully agree with your daughter: snow equals a snow day! You know that we're the same over here.
