Almost all our snow had melted last week, I almost had the trailer dug out of the snow drift. Then it snowed about 7 inches Sunday and turned cold.
Now the wind is blowing almost 20-40mph, temps are almost 50*F, snow melted fast so now it's a muddy mess.
I'll get the trailer dug out while it's warm, wait until it freezes hard this weekend to get it hooked up and moved.
I parked it in a bad spot obviously.

I planned on going to a local indoor arena to get horses loped and in shape for this spring because the ground is either mud or ice. Trainer's arenas is mud and snow, his indoor isn't even big enough to lope in.
Place not too far from me allows haul ins and charges $5/horse. I was pretty excited then the other morning my friend sends me a screenshot of a FB post from the barn owner.
Due to crappy people, the price went to $15/horse. I guess people were not paying, (seriously? Its $5! Even if you bring a trailer load it's a deal!) Leaving trash, not putting away the barrels and poles, loose dogs, leaving the lights on, tied horses to the rail, pulled back, broke fence and didn't fix or tell owner. Who does that? If my horse did that I'd feel like a jerk, fix it or tell the owner I'd pay for repairs. Geez people suck.

Sunday, going to a barrel race with a friend just to be a travel buddy and watch her run.
Hubby might be home tomorrow for a day or two :)

Dinner, I really don't like chicken but I am going to make chicken in a mushroom cream sauce with brocolli and cheese.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I DON'T LEAD 'EM AND FEED 'EM, I RIDE 'EM AND SLIDE 'EM.

I was hoping for a big day. Aqueduct cancelled an hour before post time. Penn National just cancelled after 3rd race. Wiped out one tournament I was winning as a refund. But nice win in the survivors game there as I was 1/5 left.

I doubt Charlestown makes it all the way though, snowing. Hope it isn't at Sam Houston.

@kewlplace - I can't like your post about being sick.

@aubie - I can't like yours either with the cancelled races.

I'm very happy to be home. I've spent too many nights in the wrong town in a motel. Eating burritos. At least I made them.

Got to go to one of my favorite family's house, in a favorite part of the state today. They are really nice ranch people. And I always get to see elk and lots of other wildlife. I cross a small divide and the views are great. If you like grasslands.

Going to paint more jump standards and rails this weekend. We're going to be spiffy when the snow finally recedes.

It's ok I'm doing good in the ones I'm in. Hanging out at HF and Remington's tuckered out. Made a homemade hamburger helper for supper. Charlestown is clearing up. Houston just kicked off.

My dad went out with his girlfriend (I assume: he won't be back til morning), which he neglected to tell me until I arrived home and parked my car in front of his, but that meant I was on my own for dinner. Fortunately we have plenty of leftovers. We got Chinese takeout earlier this week and I roasted some baby bok choi on Thursday. I'll try to do something with the spinach this weekend, maybe a pasta topping that I've made occasionally. (it's italian sausage, chopped tomatoes, seasoning to taste, and then you add the spinach and simmer it. Put it on preferably something like a bowtie pasta.)

It's been a long week. On Tuesday my regular work partner was out, and I got all the way to base before they turned me around and sent me to a different base for the day. The only upshot was that the other base is much closer to my house, so I got home at 7:15 instead of 8:15.

I kind of want to swim tomorrow, but I injured the upper arm swimming back in December, but it's been getting worse, and I pulled something in my forearm last week with Jasper, so the whole thing is a disaster. I have been swimming as best I can just not as much as I want (2 miles a week instead of 4 or 6). But! Saturday evening is the NWHL (women's pro hockey) All-Star Game skills competition and Sunday (daytime) is the actual ASG, looking forward to that - the women are incredible and their games are so fast and fun to watch.

I'm also down to 1 day a week of PT and may be discharged soon, hooray.

I'm home! Gave everyone hugs and treats.... everyone is great! Now just relaxing with the cat and dog....

@aubie - sounds like you are doing good with the races you are in?? Great!

@redbadger - yay on the being down to 1 day a week on the PT! But hmmm on the upper arm, I hope it gets better!

@COWCHICK77 - That sucks on the indoor arena... some people just have no clue or courtesy. I would love to have an indoor arena that I could go to to get my guys exercised.

@kewpalace - sooo sorry to hear about you being sick, and you have soooo much going on too ....

Was a busy day of shopping (yuck). We didn't have lunch until 3:00 pm at Red Robin so no supper. I'm starting to get peckish now though so I may scrounge around for a snack. No other plans for the weekend unless we hang one of the new light fixtures we got, the other we had to order so that will be next weekend's project if it comes in when they say.

@aubie , what the heck is Streak O Lean?

My dog likes to eat snow or if it's raining to lap up the little bit of water that stands on the sidewalk. To that end he also wants out more often than usual. Tonight he is sticking to me like glue because I had the audacity to get out of his sight today. LOL

R.I.P. JC 5/19/85 - 12/9/14. You made my life better.

Not a lot going on this side of the pond.

Took Aunt to the hairdressers and then on for our fish and chips.

Her daughter came and picked her up to take her for an X-ray on her hip as she has been in a lot of pain. I went and collected another power washer from a different company. Never told them that I seemed to be fated with such machines! I also knew that it wasn't going to reach as far as needed. Told the man this and he said not to use an extension cord as they weren't powerful enough. The cord I have is not the normal household one but take a higher voltage so I thought I'd give it a go.

This one wasn't very big but I was assured it was powerful. Got back to Aunts to unload it and decided that as I had left my waterproofs in the garage to start washing. By the time Aunt returned I was halfway down the steps, finished to the last step and decided to pack it in, it wasn't worth having to move everything to the house for about 15 minutes work which was all the time I had.

Was surprised at how powerful this machine was - it would blast the hair off an elephants butt from 100 yards away, certainly did a great job with little effort from me.

Will take the dogs out as soon as it is light (7a.m. At the moment) and get straight up there to finish the step and get the path around the house done. Want to finish today as weather tomorrow is meant to be bad, storms rolling in though they are predicted to hit way north west of us.

Snowstorm here but under -10C temperatures. I am okay with that. Tomorrow is hubby's birthday, we are celebrating at an awesome German/Mexican fusion restaurant. Gonna try to ride all three horses this weekend. I love it when I come to the gate with a halter, they all hope I choose them, usually they are like "nah, pick him".

I am not here to promote anythingNo, that's not true, I am here to promote everything equestrian and everyone enjoying horses!
