Smartpaks.

I just got one for my horse. What are all your opinions on them?

LOVE the convenience. The prices are reasonable, but it's much more cost effective to just buy in bulk and section it off yourself.
They're easy to work with in terms of customer service (buying, returning, etc.)

Love SmartPaks, I use their supplement system for all my supplements and pretty much exclusively buy what I need there unless I need it immediately.

Love them. Since we board, I find them much easier to give to my BO. No muss, no fuss and I don't have to worry about either of us measuring wrong or forgetting something. :)

Acey is on SmartCombo II and SmartMare Harmony. She's been on them for around 2 years and they have really helped.

I love SmartPak. Not only for their product and accessibility (big bonus - free shipping to have it shipped to your boarding facility, regardless of your order price), but they have absolutely stellar customer service. If you have any sort of question, they'll be happy to help. Heck, if you leave a smartpak in your shopping cart and forget to finalize the order or remove it, they will CALL YOU and ask if you were having any issues or questions.

I also like receiving the little cards on my "anniversary" with them.

The convenience is huge for a lot of folks, but I find that it saves me a fair bit of money just to purchase my own supplements and mix them myself (a lot of the time SmartPak isn't even the cheapest place to purchase the supplements in bulk). It depends on what is more important to you: time or money.

What are some of the places you purchase them from?

Drs. Foster and Smith (Pet Supplies | Dog & Cat Supplies, Pet Meds | DrsFosterSmith.com Pet Products) has pretty good prices on MSM and Remission, plus you get free shipping with a $50 order (less than Smartpak's $75).

Horse Supplies | Horse Products & Horse Accessories - Horse.com also has decent prices on some of the supplements that I buy. I get my psyllium and joint supplements from them.

My favorite is Horse Tech (HorseTech--Awesome Supplements... Amazing Service!). I find that their products are very high quality, without breaking the bank. Plus, they offer free shipping on all orders (I really love it when I can avoid paying for shipping). I get my flax seed, daily multi-vite, and hoof supplements from them. An added bonus is that Horse Tech has great customer service -- they are happy to answer any questions and if you try out a product and it doesn't work for you they'll give you a refund with no questions asked. Finally, they send along a little bag of cookies with every order. I find myself looking forward to that little treat after I finish lugging to 20 lbs of flax seed into the barn.

Finally, I order any herbal supplements that I am giving from Mountain Rose Herbs (www.mountainroseherbs.com) which is usually cheaper than purchasing the same product in a package labelled for horses. I get raspberry leaves (same thing as Mare Magic), yucca (good for joints), and peppermint leaves (beneficial for digestion) from them. Plus there's the added benefit that all of the herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs are organic... so no nasty chemical stuff.
Skyseternalangel and equigrl like this.
