Hello,
I have a 14 year old mare that I bred this spring. She is now approximately 8 months pregnant. Ocassionally Te has been having a brown discharge that runs down her legs. It is thick and a brownish color, but does not smell. She eats normal and her temp. is normal. Her pee is a rich brownish color and has a stong odor. I told my vet I thought she had a bladder infection and he seems to think the same. He told me to treat her with 20cc of penicillin for 4 days. It has been day two now and I still don't see a decrease in the discharge. I was wondering if I should wash the discharge off and wrap her tail beause she is just a mesh back there and I feel bad for her. Any suggestions on what I should do? I know she has not miscarried because every night when I grain her the baby moves and kicks! Open to any suggestions....
