Foaling Test strips HELP!

So I have never done the pool test strips before. I tested my horse two days ago and she showed between 7.8 to 8.4 on PH. I checked again today and she was at 6.2 to 6.8. Which means she should be foaling ASAP right? Her bag wasn't full, but it has been cold outside...idk if that makes difference. She didn't look swollen. So I am wondering if I did something to compromise the results. I didn't test right away and there were flakes in it from her bag. Could that affect the results?

I found these tests to be pretty accurate. I did always test straight away and like you, there were always a few flakes in the mix.

Will not be long now though I have known many a mare hang on (and on) until they decided it was safe. It's always on their terms!

One mare I bred seven foals from and never once saw her foal. She wanted to be alone.

How long did your mares take after getting results like this?

I've used the pool strips but found they didn't go low enough in the pH levels to be really helpful. Flakes from her udder won't affect it but I did come in and clean her udders really well before testing. You can't get them all but you can get the majority.

Combine with pics of your mare, front, rear, sideways and pics of her teats, it's too hard to tell. She'll come soon though, that's for sure.

I would go ahead and assume that shes close. My mares tested at 6.8 last night and is 6.2 this morning but minus white milk. Traditionally I watch the Ph and get an idea when to expect the milk to change and then once there is white milk and the low Ph I get my catchers mitt out.

Yeah I have been watching her, she hasn't foaled yet. Her milk still is yellowish as of last night.
