Yeah, I've spent a lot of time around arabs and arab crosses and nothing about her says arab to me. I was thinking maybe appendix but she's pretty short. There does seem to be a lot of paso finos that end up homeless around here but I don't have an eye for them (I have no clue what they're supposed to look like). I want to train her up a little to where she's handling decently and then find her a good home. She's a sweet girl but very sensitive and I'm afraid if she acts up a little she would scare a newbie or get beaten which is what I think has happened to her in the past. She can be a little reactive but since she's gotten to know me she's very good.

I agree that her head really does remind me of a thoroughbred's. She could be a quarter pony x TB cross or something. She's definitely cute whatever she is!

Well, I finally tracked down this horse's previous owners. She is a Morgan horse. I got her from a lady who said she is a rescue (?). The man that she got her from gave her to this lady along with her companion who was a morgan gelding. He was having major flooding of his pasture and couldn't deal with it anymore was the reason for giving the horses away. This mare was 3 when he got her. In his care she had some training but mostly stood around in a field with her gelding companion. The lady that he bought her from had her from a weanling and raised her to a three yr. old.
Well, that's about it. Now I know what she is.

My best guess would be a Morgan mix. Coming from a Saddleseat rider, there is just something overly familiar about that kind of neck and mane...

EDIT: JUST saw your response, OP. But good to know my guess was on point, my trainer would be proud. Is the horse broke to ride? You might be able to tell what previous training the horse had if she will park out! Most English Pleasure trained Morgans are taught to park out as foals. Parking out is not traditionally taught to the Western Morgans.

No, she wasn't taught to park out. I do have a older saddlebred mare that parks out, (former show horse). This mare here did have some handling but not much.

Since I live in Southern Oklahoma, we say a horse like her is "Out of Texas by Trailer".

I guess since you are in Florida, you can tell people that she is "Out of Georgia by Trailer".

I could see where you are coming from. I would look at her sometimes and think the same thing.
