Let’s talk about this mares conformation

So, I stumbled upon this pony in the last 4 months or so (I won’t go into detail on that) and she’s great. She’s got a wonky confirmation, especially her knees. She has no heat in her legs, and is completely sound barefoot. She got these god awful knees though (I’ll attach plenty of pictures). This pony LOVES to jump, but I worry about her soundness later in life if she continues to jump. She is 7 now.

Well, can you get them x-rayed? for arthritic developments?

Actually, large, 'shield-shaped' knees are a GOOD think, conformation wise. Her right knee is not as oddly shaped as her left knee, which looks to have a bony bump on it. But, Boy! can she tuck her knees up to her chin!

I would say that as a foal this pony was over fed to much protein.

She looks to me as if she has a boxy left foot, it looking smaller than the right.

Looking at her bones, there is a definite deviation in the angle of the bones above and below the knee which often means that the growth plates grew unevenly.

Having said that, she is sound, loves to pop fences and suffers no harm from it.

As said, only X rays will tell what is going on inside.

I don't really have anything to add, but I wanted to say that I think she's super cute! :)
