alert sent....

This morning, seconds prior to me writing this I was sent a fraudulent site message by my virus protection.
I was informed of a dangerous threat to my computer when I tried to access something in my notifications section here on HF.
I don't know why or what my protection detected but wanted to alert the board that it may have a problem or it may be my problem, but have been online at several other sites and only HF came up with a GET OFF NOW message and actually dumped me out of here 2x....
Regular forums seems to be fine but not the notifications sections...

I'm puzzled but not enough to go against the wish of my safety programming.....
Just a heads up....

....

The worst day is instantly better when shared with my horse.....

The forum does this to me on my work computer and on my phone sometimes, too.

Virus scans can be set off by something as little as a certificate not being updated. They tend to err on the side of caution when accessing sites their algorithms find missing key components. Try clearing your cache or restarting your browser.

It didn't happen to me - I have had it happen on other sites so I know my system is sensitive to things
I'm not sure if any of the other Mods has forwarded this to the Tech team via our link in the Moderating section but if not I will do that

I have never had anything like this happen. just out of curiosity, which web browser do you use?

I will say, however, that my computer runs slower on HF than on about any other site.

I do that with my work computer multiple times a day (out of habit) and it still does it.

Tiny, I'm using Google Chrome on my work computer (running Windows 10), as well as on my phone (no idea what OS I have on my phone).

Do you use Ad Blocker? Doing so immensely increased HF speed for me

Hi there,

We scan our site on an hourly basis for any malware and if we find anything, we remove it ASAP. As someone mentioned, a lot of anti-virus software err on the side of caution (with good reason). If you come across this again, try to get a screenshot and post it here for us to see. I've just browsed the site for the past 15 minutes with Chrome, Firefox and Safari and everything is running without any issues for me.
