MTG & Sunburning

Will MTG sunburn a horse with gray/dark skin in the full heat of the day? I'm debating trying it on my mare to try and grow her mane and tail out, any suggestions or methods on how or when to do this would be greatly appreciated. I board her so I can only make it out to the barn 1 day every 2-3 days. Thanks!

Depends on the individual horse. The sun is still really intense for us Texans, despite the shortening days. I'd at least apply it late afternoon so it's had some time to soak in before the sunny heat of the next day.

PLEASE first do a spot test before applying it to a large area. Some horses are sensitive to the ingredients in MTG - my boy welted up within minutes of applying a small amount to his neck.

If MTG worked, there'd be no bald men.

Agree with Saddlebag.

Massaging of crest and dock and Heinz ACV with water is best. The other just coats the pores up and attracts dust.
