Share your scary bad clips!

With Halloween and clipping season upon us, I thought it would be fun to share our awful clip jobs.

I just clipped Kenzie today and straight lines are the bane of my existence! My blanket clip might turn into a full clip.

I honestly don't think it's that bad Shadow. :)
You did a much better job than I would have, lol. Still, I'll stick around to see what comes up!

Don't judge someone's horse or skill because they don't compete or work with a trainer.

Sometimes they're the most in tune with each other.

I gave my Mini a trace clip Saturday. My husband asked me to explain what I was doing, and he walked away shaking his head and said "I won't question your methods." haha I have NEVER done one before, or even seen one in real life, and decided to because it has been a bit warm and she's worked up a good sweat a couple times.... since then, it's been so COLD and rainy! Oops. She seems to be doing well though.

I do not think it went well. But she's pretty cute no matter what.

Your line, Rain, is way better than what I could have gotten

Subbing this! LOL, these aren't so bad! They're unique, think of it that way.
They're still super cute. <3

A helpful tip for doing blanket or trace clips, they looks best when they follow the lines of the horse more like a wave instead of a line straight across their bum. I use a saddle pad to outline where I want to clip under the saddle and use masking tape to draw the lines across the hindquarters so I can check if they are hitting the same spots on both sides of the horse.

It isn't to bad at all. I have seen a lot worse!

When I started clipping I was doing a lot of trace clips. What I did with the lines was to get two pieces of bailer twine and put them around the horse (tied with a bow at the tail then turn the clippers on the side and run them around the twine. This gave you a very straight and sharp even both sides, line.
