Some horses have no problem with it and some need to get used to it. You might have to start with a very small amount (1/2 cup soaked) and gradually work in more. I think it might be that too much makes the grain smell different that he doesn't want to eat it.

Today I mixed in half a cup beet pulp soaked mixed with applesauce and he ate it! Took him a while but he got curious about it eventually
