Black Spots

Any idea what these black spots are from on our chestnuts coat? He is 18, and they just showed up today—they weren’t there yesterday. They are at the top of his right front leg and shoulder area.

Sun spots?

As they have just shown up I'd say stain of some sort.

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

One yard I was at horse kept having strange stains. Was blood from ANOTHER horses mouth that got on his coat when he groomed/bit (cant remember which)! But yeah looks like dried slobber from self or another?? Any sap?
