Blindness / lymphangitis

I'm just curious what everyone's views on these subjects are.

Have you ever encountered a horse that had lymphangitis? I've heard that as long as you wrap the legs at night, the swelling should stay down.. but I'm just curious what everyone else has heard or thought.

Also.. if a horse has a vision problem in one of their eyes.. Is it an automatic deterrant from having it? Is it something that would prevent you from showing or jumping?

My horse got Lymphangitis and it was 5 months of hell. However; he's much much better now and is back to his old self. I don't wrap his legs or really treat them any different than i did before the lymphangitis.

Life seems mighty precious when there's less of it to waste.

When I was taking lessons as a kid, I rode a horse who only had one eye. He was the most awesome horse to jump, really round, and he just turned his head a bit before the jump so he looked out of his good eye.

ETA: we jumped almost 5 ft!!!

I use to teach at Skidmore College and we had a awesome one-eyed lesson horse named hot toddy. He could jump 4' and do hunter paces and fox hunting and kick *** in the show ring. Just saying....
