Bull Nettle and Pasture Pro

Since we moved I've been struggling with pasture issues in our new house. When we first got here, the weeds were SKY HIGH (it was early spring). So I bush hogged the place, did a home soil sample, limed, and now I have clover and grass ... AND BULL NETTLE. The bull nettle it drivng me crazy. I've mowed it, but it keeps coming back, and my poor gelding has a rash on his nose now (my pony doesn't because she uses a grazing muzzle)!

Well, I've finally broke down and got some pasture pro and went out with my backpack sprayer (I must be crazy) and spot treated the bull nettle. In order to even make a 'dent' in the nettle, I had to up the concentration to 2%. Then I had to spray it 2-3 times. Needless to say, I'm exhausted, and I've only done the one large pasture.

I plan to wait to see how much died tomorrow and then mow and harrow up the dead weeds. I am putting my horses on the smaller pasture for about a week as it is supposed to rain several times this week.

Will that be enough time to wait to put them back on (1 week after several heavy rains)?

Also, does anyone use something that works better on bull nettle? This weed is crazy annoying!

We tried Pasture Pro in our fields too. It didnt do anything.
We ended up using this: Crossbow Herbicide Weed & Brush Killer 1 Gallon America's Farm & Home Store
which actually killed off everything except our grasses thank goodness.

However, about 5 months later, with all the dry weather we had, the grasses are suffering and now we have some Bull Nettle growing out there.
Because we have our other pasture being used for a QT horse we cant swap pastures and spray again.

Good luck. Weeds are hardy.
