Horse head losing hair

I don't really know how to explain what is going on but in the centre of my horses head he was losing hair. It is now down to skin & flesh! If I can post pictures I will but I'll need to figure out if I can as I am new to this forum. He coliced about a month ago so my horse emergency fund is zero and don't have the extra funds for a vet at this time 😩 (Life is the perfect storm right now..)

Stop using furazone, it will not help. It could be irritated insect bites that the horse has rubbed or the horse just rubbed itself there on a spot they found wherever you keep the horse. Either way, I would use SWAT ointment, it heals and keeps the bugs off of the spot. If there is no other spots on the horse, where there is missing hair, I guess insects.
