Unless you needa lot,it is safer to buy it. If you make your own you should make it fresh every day because a nasty little bug (Acanthoemeba) can get in it. If you plan to use it I the eyes, it is pretty much incurable.

I was planning on using it on cuts and stuff like that. How about vetericyn for cuts is that like saline?

Vetericyn is a hypochlorous acid solution- it is designed for use on cuts and abrasions to disinfect them and is not comparable to saline. Saline does not have disinfectant properties but is used to flush out debris from wounds; it is sterilized water with salt added in the same concentration as the fluids in the body.

I keep a can of this handy as its easy to use on small wounds when you don't need to be doing a lot of washing out - especially in freezing weather
