How much does a pre-purchase exam cost??

Now, I know this amount varies from state to state, so any Illinoians out there listen up! I will admit, I've never had a pre-purchase exam done on any of the horses I've had, but these days I believe it is essential and I was just wondering how much they cost on average. I have found a TWH that I have fallen in love with just looking at his picture, and hope to go test him out, and want to get an average dollar amount on this, if he turns out to be as nice as he looks! thanks all!

It depends on how much you do. If it is a general exam it won't run much if it includes xrays it could easily get over 500.00

Just a regular exam should be in the slightly less than $200 range, at least it was for me.

I just got a blood test pulled and xrays. It was about 180$. This was a few years ago though.
