Just an update! The worming worked well. She still has scabs, maybe even more then before worming her, but she's not rubbing as much anymore, if at all. I've started putting mtg on her scabs to grow her hair back, but I think she'll be okay! Next summer, I hope to catch it a lot earlier!

Not to hijack your thread JustJumpIt, I had to take Zorro to the vet. Worming him neither helped or made it worse. I still have him on HistAll and weekly Betadine baths.

Vet told me to keep him out of the sun if possible and if not put zinc oxide sunscreen on his open sores. Keep him on the HistAll and daily flyspray. An Oatmeal dog shampoo will work great if I wanted to bathe him more than once a week without drying him out.

He administered an fast acting steroid and a slow one. Gave me some powdered Dex to use if needed. Gave me a tub of Uniprim to aid in the seond grade skin infection. Wormed him again and I will have to worm a third time in 30 days(I wormed him 2 weeks ago).

Hopefully it will start clearing up within the next three days, supposed to keep him posted. He may decide to tweak what might help. After it clears he suggested an allergy test to pinpoint what exactly caused the allergic reaction in the first place and we can do some preventive maintenance next summer.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Extremely helpful!

Oh, don't worry! I'm sorry about your horse, how is he doing?
Dasha is all cleared up! Her scabs are gone, and she has a nice hairy neck now, haha. Thank you all for the suggestions, my girl is so much more comfortable!
