Liniment

So I use liniment religiously on my horse, I use a warm water/liniment mix on his legs after rides and a liniment gel to massage into his back one to two times a day to ward off his back soreness. What are everyone else's favorite uses for liniment?

If it makes you feel better then that is fine. I would just massage the racehorses tendons after hard work (gallop days)

Using a lineaments on a horse's back is asking for trouble. The ligament under a saddle and the horse working has a high risk of causing blistering.

There should be no need of your saddle fits correctly.

I only put the liniment on after a ride and allow it time to wear off (overnight or through the day) before riding. Often times by the time I saddle up it is long gone. He naturally has a tense back, I'm not sure what exactly causes that, he has been like that since before he was broke to ride. It helps him a lot, and I have been doing it a while so until it proves to be negative I'm going to keep using it.
