Locking Stifles

Recently my 7r old mare’s right stifle has been locking very often. It started after she came out of an 1.5 hr trailer ride and has started to become more frequent. Vet at first just said to do more hills and build up the quadriceps, but after starting that it starting getting worse so I’m just handwalking her right now. Vet comes out Tuesday to palpitate her and X-ray her stifle. Has anyone had any experiences like this and any incite into what I should expect as the out come? Thanks

this is common in some gaited breeds. Injections may help or "blistering" as it is called to make the tendon shorter.
