Thumbs up New EPM Test and EPM Drug Trial Available
There is a new antibody test for EPM-Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis. The Peptide ELISA (otherwise known as the Sn SAG1-5-6 ELISA) identifies 100% of the strains of Sarcocystis neurona (a protozoa). This test does not have the problems of cross-reaction like the IFAT and the Western Blot. Knowing which strain infects your horse will help your vet make treatment decisions.
EPMhorse - Tests on blood or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)

A field trial for a new EPM drug has opened. Oroquin-10 is a 10-day oral paste treatment for EPM. The drug has gone through an in-vitro efficacy test for EPM and a safety trial in horses. Your vet must submit the forms. A description and form are here:
