If you read my eairlier post I just had a 21 year old horse pass due to colic. Obvisouly I am watching my horse now extremely close. Possibly to close. Anyways we got another horse, Star. A 14 year old quarter horse. She is very spunky. My horse Anne, age 20, is doing a lot better with her. But the thing is the horse that passed was very laid back. And so anne never ran a lot. I worked with her some but never did a lot of running because she was very accident prone and it seems like she is always hurt. Well she was out running with star and they were playing. She was breathing hard when I brought her in but I overlooked because they were just running. But about an hour later anne was still breathing around 35 or 40 breaths per minutes after Star had calmed down. It did worry me. Everyone is telling me it is because she is older and out of shape and she will be fine. But I am worried. I am going back out today to see how she is doing but I am worried. While she was breathing she had her ears back but no other signs of pain. I am just really worried and would love answers. Thank you!
Edit: we can’t get her to the vet right now unless it is an emergency because we have a 2k vet bill from out other horse. Obvisouly if we need to we will take her. But I would like some time to get some money for it. Though you can’t always have time
