Hey friends
This morning I went out to the ranch to spend time with Tiny.

When I arrived I went and got Tiny brushed him and went into the main barn to walk around a bit.

As I was walking in another boarder told me that one of the horses owned by the barns owner (who is currently at an out of town HJ show) had injured himself pretty significantly.

The other boarder told me not to go down by Boxer's stall if I was funny about blood.
I am not so I continued on my way. There was blood everywhere!!
I guess he some how got a leg stuck in the fencing and cut himself up really good.
As I walked around there was a trail of blood to the hot wash rack and it looked as if a bucket of red paint was dumped there. I continued on to see them load Boxer into the trailer and take him to the vet. The vet had been there and stopped the bleeding with a tiurniquet.

I was totally sad. I have always had a ssoft spot for this horse. He is an OTB and had an injury when the owner had purchased him The rested him and recenlty brought him back to work about 4 or so months ago. He was looking really good. He has such a great soft eye!
They actually had him up for sale.
The assistant BM went to the vets facility and had just come back when I was about to leave. All she said is that Boxer was in surgery.

Please pray he pulls through everything. Poor guy has had a rough go of things the last few years.

Thanks everyone.
The owners are away at a horse show. As far as I know she was called.

I am praying and keeping my fingers crossed that it was a lot of blood but there was not an issue with an artery or something.
And...if he comes out of the surgery he will do well. If the owners will let me while they are away I am totally happy to go visit him at the vets facility.

Thank goodness that facility is only 15 minutes away!

All the prayers and good thoughts are appreciated....
As soon as I know more I will post it!

Healing vibes coming from my end, I am sure he will be fine. I have read that a horse can lose up to 5 liters of blood before they start getting shocky. My favorite gelding at the barn I used to work at sliced himself pretty good and severed an artery, he lost a heck of a lot of blood, but was fine in the end. I hope this guy pulls through!
