Question/rant...My horse Deva has been battling scratches on her right hind fetlock. I have tried a few different things already - iodine spray, soap and water, scraping it, and antibacterial spray.

She has two nasty looking spots of it that are sometimes bloody and sore and other times hard and icky. Today I put on Desitin cream (for the zinc oxide) and also some antibacterial spray with a couple dabs of Neosporin and anti-fungal cream - put that stuff on some gauze and wrapped it. Hoping that will help loosen it up and maybe start clearing it up...?

Any advice for this?? Please help!

Thanks so much in advance!!

Robin and Deva :)
Our horses get that too! WE make a paste out of hydrocortisone cream, desitin, athlete's foot cream, and a triple antibiotic cream. In other words, like a pharmacy exploded. We just put it in a tupperware and take it out! It gets dirt on it because it's sticky, but if you put it on right after you ride it should stay on a while. After you can just wash it off and reapply or just reapply on top! :)

Glad to heat she's healing up. One thing I did was I would check it everyday and if there was still a coating of Desitin I would leave it be, it not then I would reapply.
