What can I do for my horse with Arthritis?

I am looking for tips/methods you guys may have used!

My pony has recently been diagnosed with Arthritis in his left hock, he is currently on Cortaflex supplement. He has had a steroid injection from the vet but hes currently on a bute plan set up by the vet where I am bringing him back into work as we both think the steroid injection hasnt worked properly as it should of done.
Does anyone have an success stories of other things they have done or other supplements they have used for Arthritis?
I have heard of Cider Vinegar, does anyone have experience using this?
Thanks x

The arthritis itself is not going to go away. Injections can sometimes take a little longer to work..in one of my horse's case he was completely off work for two weeks, turnout only, before I rode him again. I then kept him up with a combination of Cosequin ASU and Previcox. Previcox is similar to Bute but it is less likely to give a horse ulcers with long term use. The horse was on 1 tablet of Previcox daily for three years with no issues, along with the Cosequin.

That depends on what part of the hock is effected.
Articular= the goal is to decrease inflammation & resultant bony deposits making the surface rough & painful.
Non-articular joints= keeping the horse comfortable but allowing some inflammation so bony growth will fuse the joints & over time the horse will be sound again.

I use technyflex it's AMAZING!
Without it Prin can't trot a 20m circle soundly with it, slightly above their recommended dose she can hunt for 5 hours and pull up better than I do!

Her arthritis is in her fetlocks. For the first few weeks she was ridden daily 15/20 mins walk with a little bit of trot thrown in.
Then half hour/ 40 mins walk/ trot / trot poles playing with dressage to get her using her hind end.

Just built up slowly if she felt/ looked off backed off. The most important thing with her is to work her consistently. Weeks off sets us months back.
