What it be? (Little gross)

No swelling, no fever, no lameness. Started small and got big over a couple days. I started off leaving it open and covered in furasone because I thought at first it might be an abscess that came out the top.

but am now bandaged after betadine wash. I was thinking hemorrhoid cream...

I’ve googled it and so now I am pretty sure her leg is going to fall off and it’s going to spread to the cats and birds.... I haven’t decided on vet or not and I think it is starting to heal...

I'd be getting the vet out, especially as it got big quickly!

Yuck! Is it painful to the touch? If it's growing rapidly I'd get a vet out, just to be safe.

Wow, I've never seen anything like that before! Nasty, deep wounds, yes. But that is a really, really weird sore!

There's a lot of stupid out there!

PS. I've had good luck with hemorrhoid cream for preventing/shrinking proud flesh in a bad lower leg cut. Might be worth a try! I doubt it would hurt anything. It shrinks inflammation and that's certainly inflamed.

It grew the first couple days but then it stopped. It hasn't grown and appears to be healing on the edges. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and post. I was thinking if I don't see improvement in the next couple days I'll call the vet.

Since there is no heat, swelling, fever, lameness, and it has stopped growing I think I'm ok to wait a couple days. I think I screwed up when I left it unwrapped the first few days. I should ahve wrapped and stalled I think. She is wrapped and stalled tonight.

I was thinking summer sore too... I've just never seen it perfectly round like that before.

What is a 'summer sore'?

Almost looks like a result of a burrowing insect.

How would you treat a burrowing insect? You mean like a warble type? I was actually tempted to lance it but I refrained. I figure if it gets to that point I'll have the vet do it. I just can't decide if it's a vet call or not because it really does appear to be healing now...
