Kay... I still can't get over only 2 flakes? in the winter???

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

Exactly, Ray. One of the reasons why I wasn't making such a big deal over that is because some of my horses get on 1 or 2 flakes a day. However, the bales those flakes are coming off of are 3x3 and each flake weighs approx 20 lbs.

That being said, most folks can't or don't get bales like that since you have to have a tractor with hay forks to move them. Yes, 1, 2 flakes off of a small bale wouldn't keep my mini-burro healthy, let alone a full sized horse.

Here we go again! If we wanted drama we'd create it ourselves. This is a horse health forum, can we try to keep the problems real? Thanks

Yea and I am also one of the others who tried to help you with the three wild horses, the long involved story and you yourself coming back on a month later, said you had lied and the horses are running free. I don't insult anyone except posters like you who have nothing better to do than cook up stories to excite your boring life. The people who say insult you are the ones who catch onto your stories now before you get pages and pages of sympathy and being told how upset they are for you and your horse. I never said you aren't who you say you are, I said I follow your posts on another forum, you use the same name, same status and same storylines. Not hard to figure it out. NO vet would say to only feed a horse two flakes of hay a day, especially in snow when they can't paw for feed. As far as you owning a horse, good for you. I just hope all these stories you dream up don't put your horse at risk. I live in snow country also, wouldn't dream of feeding my horses only two flakes a day for food.
Enjoy dreamland.

Well, it's pretty obvious where the OP got the "1 flake of alfalfa" idea, since a week ago she posted a thread about her "friends horse with EGUS" and the first response she got from someone included this.

"What symptoms does he have? We use 1 flake of alfalfa hay a day, and keep hay in front of our horses that are at risk of ulcers to help prevent them."

Guess she missed the part about AND keep hay in front of them. oops...

I imagine since "the vet came today " yadda yadda, it falls along the same line as "the owner came today, paid me money and took the horses" then a month later came online and said it was all lies and the horses were running free in Colorado...
I think this is a young person trying to make herself feel important and figures if she can keep threads going and making folks feel sorry for her, that is the total intentions.
I also was surprised to find out that "site4pets" the name she uses is actually an ESTABLISHED online pet supply store.. Her screen name is not even original.
Oh well, to be a child and have nothing better to do than stir the pot and call that excitement
