Why is my horse coughing?

I was wondering if any of you know why my horse as recently been coughing. I understand horses cough every once in a while, but it seems like my horse is doing it just a little bit more often than she used to. She coughed a couple of times when she was tacked up and I was just about to ride her. Than I noticed her cough again today. Could it be dusty hay? (We have other horses that don't seem to be affected if it is) She also recently has had diarrhea which I have been treating that like sand colic using psyllium. Could they possibly be connected. Should I just get the vet out? Has any any of your horses had this problem? If so, What was the diagnoses?
Thanks in advance!

Get your vet out. She could have a respiratory infection, an allergy, heaves, or an obstruction causing her to cough. Your vet will be able to see what other signs there may be that are causing it.

Ditto get your vet out. Coughing can be brought in by any number of things.

Thankfully I heaven't t heard her cough since I posted this, but I will still give my vet a call and see if he wants to see her. I will give him an option if he thinks he should see her or not, because like I said, she hasn't coughed that much, I had just noticed it more than usual. Thanks!

I'm late seeing this and hope all has now "returned to normal" but a combination of coughing and the diarrhea would have me on alert of "something" is happening possibly.
Hope the
pysillium treatment works from the adding of fiber but if not a vet visit is really needed.

Coughing and runny poop could mean many things, some of which should not be ignored...

Best of luck with the horse.
