Ok so I bought my horse when was 1 year and 3 months. The people I got him from sometimes had little kids(4-5 yr olds- he was quiet) sit on his back and he was being lunged when he was a yearling. I have him now for about 7 months and he's never been lame. I'm sorta worried he'll break down sometime in his life. what should I do? is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening? I'm not planning on riding him anytime soon. thanks.

How hard/long were they lunging him? If it was just short w/t sessions on a line or in a round pen, he'll be fine. If they were expecting him to w/t/c for extended periods of time, there is the possibility that he'll develop joint problems earlier than if he'd been let to mature more before being asked to work.

As for little kids sitting on him...I don't think it'll negative affect his soundness, really. It'd be different if it was teenagers or adults.
