My mum tends to want me to try everything she hears from people when they give us advice about horses. Sometimes she also doesn't believe a thing I say and completely trusts what they say just because they are an adult.
Anyway someone was telling us about lupins being really good to feed and being cheaper then a lot of other stuff. My mum bought some this afternoon and wants me to try it. I'm not saying this is bad but I really don't know much about it. We have cracked lupins. I have been trying to find information on the internet with limited success.
I am not totally sure how to feed it to them. I was going to slowly add small amounts to their normal feeds. I have been told you don't have to soak cracked lupins only whole lupins because of a toxin or something. How long should they be soaked for exactly? I was going to soak the cracked stuff anyway before feeding it especially for Pepper because I think it would be too difficult for her to eat because it is so hard.
Also how much should they get eventually? I honestly have no idea about this. And what nutritional value does it have exactly? Thanks for any help.
