Question What should i be giving my 3yo qh mare

Im fairly new into the horse world and want to make sure my girl is getting everything she needs. Should i be giving her any vitamins or oil of any kinds? She has a salt block right now and thats it.

Also feed wise she is on 2 flakes of hay at 9am and 5pm and 2qts or grain each time. Should i have the barn give her an afternoon feeding of hay? She is stalled but has roughly 5 hours of dirt turnout mon-sat. I also ride her 5-6 days per week. In my previous post i asked everyones opinion about sunday feedings, should i make sure she gets grain on sundays? I feel like she is to young and still growing to miss pellet all together on sundays.
Thanks for all your help guys
here is a current picture of her if this helps, she may be a little lighter in weight since this picture

Has your hay been tested to have the nutritional value made available?

My three year old gets PM only 2 pounds Safe Choice, cup of XTN and a cup of milk plus, AM - 2 pounds Safe Choice - free choice hay (round bale). Only light work a few days a week right now.

as close to free choice hay as you can get so if that means adding a feeding yes have it given to her

I hate to see any horse on "grains"

What pelleted feed is she currently getting??

I have been called the NSC Nazi more then once ... I hate traditional feed methods of loading our horses up on grains and junk food :)

I would definitely have her on a 3rd hay feeding, another 2 flakes of hay. I would reduce her grain to 1 qt, add a vit/min supplement like Grand Vite, and add Alfalfa Pellets, 2 qts per-feeding. That should give her all of the vitamins, minerals, protein, and calories she needs to keep her weight, continue to grow/develop, and keep her gut healthy.

If she were my horse, and I'm assuming she's around 1,000 pounds, she would be getting between 20 to 30 pounds of hay a day depending upon how easy a keeper she is. I would probably do 20 pounds of quality 1st or 2nd cutting orchard or timothy hay, with 5 pounds of alfalfa, stick a mineral block in her stall, and call it a day.
