Losing a dear friend like that is always hard, but she looked very happy to be with you & her horse friend. She was beautiful & is now at peace. Our hearts always hurt for those that go before us. RIP sweet mare.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your picture made me tear up. :(

I am so sorry...one thing that has to be remembered, however, is that we have a responsibility towards these animals. Man has taken them out of their natural habitat and at that point became responsible for knowing when it was time to make the difficult decision to send them to their well earned rest. It becomes a matter of quality of life over length of life and it is much more merciful and humane to end suffering or simple constantly declining health than to let it go on because we can't bear to say goodbye.

Know in your heart that you made the correct decision and Cissy is grateful.

Hugs to you and JuniorMiss...

Thank you. I know it was the right thing to do because it was time. I refuse to let her suffer or get to that point. She's a in a better place now. I cut off most of her tail so I'll get couple things made with it.

Thank you for all the replies.

I'm so sorry for your loss :(. I hope your other mare starts feeling better, it's so sad when horses mourn the loss of others. Your mare was STUNNING.
