Midas & Pokey

And maybe some other random shots! Here's a compilation of some recent photos of my 3 yo grade pony Midas and my 29 yo AQHA Pokey! Today my little niece and nephew came out with me to the barn and I lead them around on Midas and he was such a great boy. Riley my niece is in 4-H and is just as horse crazy as I was then... however Ethan got really involved and did a lot of things for the first time too. I was really proud of Midas, as I haven't had kids around him before and 5 months ago he was a raggedy, unkempt stud. Now as you can see he has come a ways! Photos are a bit random... enjoy!

Thanks everyone :)! I would've never purposely bought a yellow halter but the BO won it in a poker run and even though it says its horse sized it was way too small for any of her average sized horses. Midas has a little head so she gave it to me :). I must say it fits him pretty well, but still on the loosest hole (and I had to punch holes in a cob sized caveson crownpiece) so I'm thinking the sizing isn't true to standard. Its way flashy for me but I agree, it goes with the grey!

And no, they are not my kids, but my brothers. They are extremely well mannered, funny, and helpful! I gave them pointers on how to care for the horses and they took it to heart. I definitely would not mind taking them again!

Here in FL we are finally experiencing "some" change in the weather. I cannot wait for winter, as I'm so tired of sweating! Then it will actually be possible to trail ride for longer than an hour and not just during the early morning or late afternoon :).
