So proud of the crazy ex racehorse :)

I remember posting a thread a while ago, about my young friend and the OTTB's she got, and how problematic the whole situation became... I'm not sure if anyone else does?

Anyway, after almost two years of owning these horses, my friend has done amazing things :) She realized that she could not just canter canter canter everytime she rode, and started doing proper calming exercises etc, and wow... Her 9 year old TB has gone from a highstrung horse, to a responsive, calm highstrung horse

Thanks to our wonderful trainers, they have actually started jumping :) In 6 months, her horse is up to 80cm, but she only jumps that high once a month...

I'm so proud of them, and I can't wait till September, when she is taking him to his first show :)

Please don't critique, she said herself that her riding was not the best... She knows her heels and her overall position is bad, but she wanted me to post this anyway :) Sorry it's so small and grainy... If anyone is interested, I can post the video I took it from?

Wow. It sounds like such an improvement has been made :) Good on her and I hope they do well at their show!

There is one principle that should never be abandoned, namely, that the rider must first learn to control himself before he can control his horse. This is the basic, most important principle to be preserved in equitation - Alois Podhajsky
