Has my jumping position improved?

At least a bit?

A few days ago I posted a thread on here for critique and I got some good solid criticism and advice. I jumped again yesterday and my sister took pics this time. I think I've improved a bit, but what do you guys think?

To compare these to the pictures from before, here's he link to the thread: https://www.horseforum.com/horse-ridi...itique-492993/

Now for yesterday's jumping session!

I sometimes feel myself struggling to keep with the motion and to anticipate the jump, since Luca sometimes takes off too early or misses strides. That's why next time I will be having a canter pole in front of the jump (that always helps him and me, because then I know exactly when he takes off).

Critique away! :)
Thanks again for your time.

I see tons off improvement! You have a stronger core, you seem more stable, and you're giving a better release. Very well done!

That said, I would widen your hip angle slightly, and keep on working on your leg strength. Make sure you keep those heels down, too. Could you get a video?

Thanks for your comment, xJumperx! I'm glad that I'm not the only one noticing some improvement!

I see now what you mean about widening my hip angle some more, I find it much easier to do when I have a canter pole in front of the jump, because then I don't have to worry about Luca over-jumping and/or missing strides, he's still quite green over jumps
I'm doing tons of no-stirrup exercises (posting trot without stirrups is like trying to ride a whale made of soap ) and it's really helping me with my leg placement and strength. When I go to the arena next week I'll also be doing lots of low jumping grids.

Thanks again, I will try to get a video next time I ride, but to be honest I have no idea how to upload them on here I'll give it a go, though!
