Talking Intro/Training Level Draft Sport Horse

Good morning!

I am still just on could nine my friends, I would love to share the huge progress Daphne has made in the last two rides!

This mare has not been easy and when the work pays off boy does it ever!

I set a goal at the beginning of the month that Daphne and I would be cantering, never said it would be pretty or fancy. BUT we met that goal and I couldn't be prouder!

The day before our first clinic together something in her clicked. I got canter without her shrinking back, without her bucking or any drama at all! In fact she was so proud of herself that it took about thirty minutes to help her realize she was done working, she was so eager and tickled with what she had finally figured out after a few very tough rides.

Her self confidence has lacked BIG TIME when it comes to cantering, she is still learning how to use her body and figure out her balance....So I have just kept opening different doors on inviting her into canter with little pressure and keeping it fun....

Please note if you see a rein looping, I am stretching forward to pat her as a praise, I am more looking for critique on the horse.

Last photo is a transformation collage, the left side being our 3rd ride in the big arena and the right being the last weeks progress.

7/30/17 I walked away from the clinic feeling that working on getting her to be more mobile through her shoulders to poll as well as starting to really get her in more of a working trot than smaller safe slower temp trot will help her start to lengthen her neck out adn fill the space between bit and hand. I am not seeking collection merely relaxation and forwardness and over all bed as well as straightness of the body.
