Oliver over cavaletti's

So with this new exercise today we would trot in and out, 20 meter trot circle through the trot poles both ways and then we would canter in, 4 strides to the trot poles - trot the poles - pick up the canter and over the last cavaletti and hope to land on the correct lead.

I know I am getting ahead of him as he finally is settling into the smaller fences and not taking them as 4ft over spreads with a dragon under them!

I am more so looking for a critique on ollie.
My arms I feels where relaxed and moving with him / may not show well in the video but I could really feel it. I also feel like I my lower leg was strong but I may have pinched a little in my knee. The wrong lead at the end to the last cavaletti was my fault, wrong leg slipped back and he was trying to be good...landed on the right one!

The second video is simple due to the fact his left lead was not happening -tired, leg hind is his weaker leg and we where just trying to end on a good note. He was trying very hard for me and so after he cantered through the poles twice I made him just simply trot it and was not expecting for him to be good and jump the last cavaletti.

Thank you.

Thank you both!
I am still looking for a critique
On the 15th we are riding in a local jump day so no more baby jumps after that!
We will be jumping up to 2'6! Still not that big but with ow Ollie can take a jump in a exaggerated form...it could be a 3'6 jump haha

His timing has really improved, wow! He didn't seem to have any worried moments where his feet got left behind or anything. Well done!

He seems happy and eager, but not over the top. I love his cadence.

Things to work on.... transitions. They're very harsh and it is better to ride him through them a little more.

Shoulders. Make sure he's not motorcycling in on turns. Have him leg yield out when you go around a turn and feel him starting to try and creep in. Or just do it from the get go, softly, so that he stays straighter.

Love the improvements! Wish my boy and I looked that good!

haha Well sky the last video...he was so darn tired. He has this thing of just STOPPING ....from trort from canter from anything and slams my crotch into the saddle. It was his last run through and the poor guy was like mom I am done!

Yes lots of transition work still to be done and i have been working on keeping my turns straight so to speak, bend but straight at the same time and forward. this is where him and I can really get tense though! I hope to improve by jump day haha TURNS ARE NEEDED!

in an arena as sloppy as that, the horse will often not be wanting to go. they hate the wet sand splattering up into their privates.

I thought YOU did great; good balance, great on absorbing the motion in the trot over poles.
