Back From a Jumping Clinic!

Today I rode in a jumping clinic to try and point out all the problems that Jerry has with jumping. We started out with flat work, and the man who was instructing said that my position was "not only beautiful, but functional." He said that the only thing I needed to work on position wise was keeping my toes in. Then we went on to jumping, where he called Jerry a "fast chicken", meaning that he rushes up to a jump thinking that he's super brave, but then chickens out at the takeoff point and refuses or runs out. He told me that I was pretty much doing all the right things except that right before the jump I wasn't pushing enough to get him over.

Then we did a line. Jerry did the first one exactly as I asked him to, but then when we got to the second one, he did his "fast chicken" thing and ended up refusing, so the guy sent me through again. It went better, but he said I was "acting as a passenger and hoping something good will come out of the jump."

So now I have my list of things to work on! Can anyone tell me how I can fix the few things that he mentioned?

Sorry, no pictures! We had to ride indoors as it was raining and the lighting sucked.
