Western EQ Clothing

Hello everyone! I recently got an option to lease a western Morgan. I have shown saddleseat for the majority of my show career (a little bit of hunt), and I'm not quite sure where to find decently priced western clothing. I do not want to spend a fortune seeing as I will probably only show this mare for a year, but I need decent quality clothing because I will be competing at the Morgan Grand Nationals. What sort of tack/consignment shops are there out there for western clothing? And what sort of prices should I be prepared for? Also, it would be great if you have some show ring fashion advice for me. I've always been super interested in the ever evolving saddleseat fashion trends, but never gave much thought to western. I will be showing equitation if that is important in any way. Thanks a bunch for your help!

I'd look at photos from classes held in your area at the level you will be riding. HERE
is a synopsis of what is being worn. Then I'd say go to a local retailer to try on what is available so you have a good idea of sizing that fits the go to ebay and see what is out there.

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

Thank you! Sadly, there are no show clothing retailers in my area.

Most stores that carry western saddles will have at least a small selection. Some feed stores have a corner for clothing, boots and saddles. Call around or ask at the barn where others get theirs. I know where we were the girls that were close in size would switch stuff out with each other.
