Hunt Seat Eq. Saddle Pad

Hello, I’m new to the English world and have found conflicting answers on this. Can you wear a dressage pad under a contoured saddle pad in hunt seat eq at shows? I have not seen any rules saying you can’t, but don’t want to get DQed if it’s not allowed! Here’s a picture of what I mean.
Thank you!

I wouldn't. I think the expectation is to have a full sheepskin pad and no square pad under it.

You can bring the square pad, see what others are doing, then put it on if others have it. The only time I've ever used one was showing in high school when we got our school logos put onto square pads and used those to identify as part of a team.

The square pad underneath can be used for jumpers, but not for hunters. I'm not sure if there's any actual rules against in in the rule book.

Thank you, I was just confused because I have seen people ride both in the local shows I do, but didn’t know which was better!

What kind of shows? Open, schooling, Aqha? Open hunters doesnt actually have much that is against the rules, just things that are unconventional.

Open shows, you want a white numnah, just half pad is out of trend.

Schooling show, it doesn't really matter that much, just make sure its clean.

Aqha has those shaped pads with the spot for the numbers, I don't know if that's still the trend, I don't do anything with aqha.

If you want to cover all bases, get a white, clean, numnah. This will be acceptable at all levels of show and make you look clean and classy.

If you know the venue and it's a schooling show, a clean square pad is fine. I've shown local hunter schooling shows plenty in a white square pad. If you use one, you want an AP cut pad, not a dressage pad.
