Anybody used one of these or know someone who has...

I was looking at Weaver's website the other day aand saw this, it was listed under training bridles, but so were all of the hackamores. It looks really interesting, I like the look of the hackamore it has, but it still has the control of a snaffle since my TWH is so hard headed. Anybody ever used one or know of any reason not to use it as a day to day bit?

It is a bited side pull. They are great when used properly. The idea is that they work not only off the mouth with the snaffle but also the nose with the rawhide nose band.

I used one, but without the bit. The rope is very stiff and can burn the horse's nose. Also those knots on sides are very stiff and hard too. After looking at some I found a version without the knots on sides, and I put lots of vet wrap on it to make it soft and comfortable. However my horse still didn't like it much and eventually I just donated it.
