English saddles- What one?

Im looking for a new English saddle.. Needs to be a 17.5 would prefer black but it really doesn't matter...
The one i have works pretty good but i rode in my friends saddle about a week ago... and discovered my saddle is pretty much as hard as a rock!.. no wonder why my bum was hurting alot So i thought i would try to look for another saddle... Would like to be under 230...
Any help would be awesome.. I just want something affordable but still of good quality... Thanks : )

looking on ebay, or at a local tack store for saddles on consignment are your best bet.

What style? AP, Dressage, CC/Jump? What tree size? For your price range, you're going to have to go used to find a quality saddle. If you let me know what style and tree size, I can do some looking around for you.

Im just looking for an All purpose saddle right now... Im not doing any specific riding right now.. except an occasional show and trail riding..

For the tree size... it would have to be medium.. I have quarter horses lol...

If you show I would not suggest black. I would look online because you can find some great deals.

Most QHs take med-wide to wide trees. Medium/regular English trees are built for leaner horses, like lanky Thoroughbreds. They are similar to narrower Semi-QH bar western saddles, for Appendix type horses.
