Insurance for your tack?

Do any of you have insurance for all of your horse equipment?

Our homeowners insurance recently came up for renewal and while it is covered under sports equipment because I show, the agent I spoke with said that a separate farm insurance might be better.

I estimated my actual tack and horse-related equipment to be around $10,000-$15,000. That's not including the horse trailer, that's just saddles, bridles, boots, chaps, hats, spurs, etc.

I've Googled to find out who provides such insurance but I haven't been able to find anything.

So, do you insure your tack separately from your homeowners insurance or do you just assume it will be covered?

Some Homeowners Insurance Companies will let you Tag on extra adder Policy for Excessive Value of Personal like Saddles, Guns, Jewelry, etc.

Depends on the State Rules too , not just the Particular Company

I once had an adder for excessive value on certain Items and is was an extra 85.00 a year added to the Homeowners.

Most Homeowners have small personal policy limit and a high deductible, that is why an adder policy helps in many cases.

.

May all your Trails be happy and safe ones

Yeah, I talked to my homeowners insurance providers. They recommended something else because of the value.

ETA: Our personal property limit is high enough to cover everything, I'm just not sure how picky they'll be because so much value falls into 'sports equipment'.
