Rope halter fitting?

Is his rope halter on correctly? I know that some rope halters ride higher than others, and I also know that those knots are supposed to activate "pressure points" or whatever you want to call them when you tug on the lead rope. They seem to high to do that. The halter is average horse sized, but Ice has a very small TB head. Should I get him arabian sized?

It looks fine to me. You should tuck that loose end in though. I just tuck it in under the chin. That way it won't accidentally smack him in the eye.

there is a photo on this site- and a tieing guide

I think it's tied on the wrong way. I can't see it well in the photo but the tail of the rope goes through the eye on the halter then it goes around the eye in a half-hitch. If the knot is tied above the eye then it will slip and the halter will loosen and come off. If that is the way you have it then great it looks fine.

Yeah thats the way I have it, the knot is just backwards, if that makes sense. I'm left handed, lol. If I tied it the right way (to the right) that extra rope would just lay flat and it would look better. But it is through the eye in the cheekpiece.

the knot is just backward but someone explained to me once why that actually does matter and me being non-intuitive about knots I neither remember why it matters nor can I logically suss it out. You should be able to tie it properly, even as a lefty- I'm a righty and I tie all my surgical knots left handed for inexplicable reasons.

Yeah, I can tie them to the right, I just have to remember that it actually matters in this instance so I tell myself to do it correctly.
