Saddle with gel pads

Is there a saddle made with gel pads? These pads would be for me, like my bicycle seat.

lol! wouldn't that be nice!! i don't think they do, but they do make seat covers that can offer some extra padding. and remember that some saddles are more comfortable then others!

Check out "seat Savers" in any horse catalog - they are gel.

I remember a lady years ago had a gel seat dressage saddle, but I have no idea what the brand was or anything. I think most saddlers stopped making them, since people found it was cheaper to get a seat cover.

Skito makes an AWESOME seat cover. I bought one for a hard seat saddle I used to have and it worked very well! It's even pretty affordable : Skito Rear Gear seat saver.

That would be cool! I can't afford a seat saver so I think I am going to try to tape my sheepskin half pad onto a western saddle.

Please don't tape anything to the leather... You can have strings put on it, long strings, so you can tie the pad to the front and rear d-rings. Or tie the front to the pommel and the rear to the rear d-rings.

Wearing padded cycling shorts under your pants works well too. You can get a pair from REI or a similar store for about $30.
