What brand of saddle do you have?

I still haven't made up my mind as to what brand my next saddle will be. i'm leaning towards a collegiate saddle, but i'm not sure.

So... what brand saddle do you have? and what is it? AP, close contact, dressage, etc?

I've had 2 Courbettes, AP models, and both were bought used and lasted for years. The only reason I stopped using them is one didn't fit me, and the other had a narrow gullet that was pinching my horse. They are, or were, very well made saddles.
I'm using a Thorogood synthetic AP now, that is very comfy, has a wide gullet, lots of padding, and my mare likes it. I like it too, it's very secure grippy seat, and has some adjustability to it for fit.

I had a close contact collegiate that my rear end was just plain too big for. The saddle was comfortable and fit EVERY horse I owned. From super fat super wide draft looking Blue to narrow high withered arab looking build Pistol...

I gave that one away, it was a 15.5 and I really needed a 16.5 so I bought an HDR because everyone around her was raving about them. I'm OK with it BUT... It doesn't fit my pony and it doesnt fit Blue where my collegiate, as long as I had the right girth, would fit anything....

A good friend of mine has a bates that I tried once, it's so flipping comfy and it has an interchangeable gullet. My trainer is against it, says it's more work then it's worth and over priced, but my friend Kelly, who is showing at the international horse show in DC today (go kelly!) LOVES her bates....

I have a friend that has a bevel that she raves about, but My friend kelly above sold a bates to buy a bevel becuase it was the in thing to have and absolutely hated it, and this chick htat has one, I remember she had to send it back for fixing becuase the stitching came out... for 2K the stitching shouldnt come out!

Another friend has the QH version of the HDR that she raves about... I do like the courbette, but I like the collegiate better... Hope that helps a little.....

I was looking at the collegiate and hopefully once I sell my saddle, I'll have enough money to buy a new one.
I also know someone who's selling courbette saddles for only $550... but I have a feeling there's a big reason behind it.

Glad to know that the collegiate fit a wide range of horses :)

Collegiates are great saddles! They're a fabulous saddle for the price. I'd highly recommend it!

I see a lot of used Courbettes for around $500. They're not as popular as they once were and i personally think they get very hard/slick and uncomfortable as they age. Maybe that's just my opinion....

My saddle is a CC by Bruno Delgrange. LOVE it.

I'm pretty sure mine's Courbette. I'll have to double-check next time I'm at the barn though.
