I love Bates too...I got the Caprilli last Christmas with the Cair system and adustable tree and it works realllly well on my draft that needed and extra wide tree without having to go custom. It broke in really quickly and feels like you're riding on a couch hehe.
From what I remember, the buckle never got in my way on the Antares, but I really don't remember-
I have heard that they are really hard to fit too. Keeping my fingers crossed that if I ever end up with one, it will fit

My dream saddle is the Isabell Werth Dressage saddle... my best mate and I were having a race to get one first and she got it... Had the pleasure a couple of months ago riding her Multi Champion gelding in it and fell even more in love.
Am getting mine in the next couple of weeks... making me almost broke, but SO worth it :P
